Orange Scholarship for Tech Training
In today’s world, technology permeates all aspects of our lives. From our personal, business, and even recreational activities, technology has become the plate within which all of life’s meals are served. The option to be disinterested in tech has been taken off the table for most people, especially young people. Their future is technology and technology is the future. To say that tech skills are of the essence would be an understatement.
More than ever, teens, young people, and even adults must learn and advance their tech skills or risk falling behind.
But there is a challenge. Regardless of the high demand for tech skills, most young people are left with constraints which inhibit their access to training or edtech institutions who can bring them onboard the tech ship, which is fast sailing.
Financial straits are among such constraints. Most young people are unable to afford the cost of training and necessary resources needed, such as a laptop and other resources with which to learn and train in tech.
But this challenge is insurmountable. In order to support and help young ones overcome this challenge, Openlabs Ghana has a Scholarship scheme to help hard-working, brilliant, and devoted students achieve their dreams.
What is the OpenLabs Orange Scholarship?
The Orange scholarship was set up to support qualified but financially challenged students to learn tech skills and become part of the Openlabs tech community. We have taken on a heavy commitment of providing scholarship to admitted students who need it, to ensure that training in tech is affordable to the less privileged. Here’s a quick guide to our scholarship.
What the Scholarship Covers
The scholarship covers up to 70% of the total cost of training for both certificate and diploma programs offered at Openlabs. Students who qualify for the scholarship can therefore enroll in the various tech courses with little stress and full focus on the training being offered.
Scholarship Prerequisites
To qualify for this scholarship, a student must take an evaluation test. The test, which is generally knowledge-based, tests applicants on analytical and problem-solving skills. Applicants who pass the test are eligible for up to 70% of the orange scholarship.
How you Benefit
Over the years, a considerable number of applicants have benefited from the orange scholarship initiative. Most of the beneficiaries have graduated and gone on to promising careers in tech both in Ghana and abroad.
The scholarship is open to all who wish to start a career in tech. As part of our vision to equip innovative and transformative leaders with technology skills, Openlabs Ghana set up this initiative to serve as an opportunity for young people to acquire valuable skills that can lead to rewarding career opportunities. This includes areas like software development, business analytics, digital marketing, web development, and more.
How to Apply
You can also be a beneficiary of the orange scholarship too and become part of a learning community that introduces and aids your success in the tech industry.
