The Greatest Journey — NIIT 10 years journey in Tamale
Tamale has developed and transformed significantly in recent years, this new dimension of Tamale’s development boldly features a rush by various companies to open branches in Tamale.
Despite the significant growth and development in the suburb, some sectors remain far behind in the technology race. A large percentage of the youth lack resourceful ICT training and some of the schools and other institutions also do not have the technology needed to aid ICT training.
NIIT began its journey to extend the use of new-age technology, learning processes, global alliances, and an exemplary governance culture to enhance the delivery of value to students, youth, community, and the industry as a whole in order to support the growth and nurturing of ICT training in the community. The visionary Mr. Dev Varyani (Chairman, NIIT Ghana) — the brain behind this institution started the Tamale Branch in 2010 with the school being inaugurated by the ex-president John Dramani Mahama.
As a company, we love to describe this decade long journey as an interesting journey full of learning, setbacks, achievement. This can explain why NIIT Tamale has today emerged with 1000+ successful Alumni over the years and has placed students in several corporate and government institutions across the country.
NIIT Tamale has also played a great role in equipping young girls in the community with IT training. There are plans to launch a new project, ‘She Codes’ which targets nurturing or developing the interest of technology education in the girl child. In the same way, it is the journey of benchmarking efforts of teamwork.
The 10-year completion celebration has been full of joy, emotions, and profound growth in the spirit of teamwork. We as a team, however, do take care of our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and hence offered free training to some of the community members, made donations to the mosque. In addition, NIIT Tamale organized Computer training for GES Staff and UDS students and distributed sanitizers and some safety products like face masks to the market women to keep them safe during this pandemic
Again, these 10 years have seen NIIT Tamale provide much-needed education on different technologies, which are, in fact, required for the industrial market’s quest to stand out. In doing so, NIIT Tamale helps to establish a society of good technological positioning, and most of that has come through our young and dynamic software professors who have proven in the past decade to be an important element in the transformation of Tamale.
We express our appreciation to all those who trusted us; especially parents and students themselves and the community at large. We also take this opportunity to appreciate the governing bodies and the ministry for supporting us in all these years.
